October 3, 2011 | Small updates

I'm in the midst of planning a general refurbishment of this site, but until then only small additions and changes are being made.

The more content one has to keep updated the more time it takes to actually update! There is a clear tendency that I wait a while until there is enough new things to update so it feels worthwhile the time and effort. But during this wait I get caught up in projects and musical experiments, so I forget. Another reason is simply that I'm in desperate need of new tools for managing the site in a more effective way.

Ok, so I have detected the illness…now it’s time to find the cure!

April 1, 2010 | No, i'm not dead

It’s almost a year since I updated my website, but of course that doesn’t mean that nothing has happened during this year – on the contrary! As this website is not intended to function as a blog I should narrow down my excuses for not updating by simply stating that it takes ENOURMUS time to move from an apartment to a house in another part of the country. But now I’m back online.

In august 2009 my book Ergonomic Guitar Technique got favorably reviewed in Classical Guitar Magazine. I'ts at the bottom of the page - go HERE to read it!

April 11, 2009 | Just a few updates

Now I have put the info on Ergonomic guitar technique right under your nose - now you can't say that you didn't find it!

Next I've added a better video player, namely the infamous YouTube player! Head over to Videos and check it out!

Lastly I've uploaded my own adaption of the "Menuet I" from "Cello Suite no. 1" by J.S. Bach for you to download if you want! HERE it is!

March 17, 2009 | Ergonomic guitar technique is RELEASED

The second, and translated, edition of "Ergonomic guitar technique" is now completed and is available for purchase! In time of writing it's only available from a few online bookstores, but there will be more soon.

January 23, 2009 | Ergonomic guitar technique!

The second, and translated, edition of "Ergonomic guitar technique" is finished and will soon be available for purchase! This version of the book is expanded by 51.4% compared to the Swedish version, making it 73 pages longer. In fact, I'd say this version also became 51.4 % BETTER! The last couple of days I've been checking a draft print for misprints or other problems, and when the corrections are done the book will go into production. I'll upload all necessary info soon!

UPDATE! I've uploaded a flash presentation for the upcoming book! Be sure to take a look by following the link Publications. There you'll see a big, red button - press it!

December 28, 2008 | Collection of press cuttings added

I've added a collection of press cuttings using Zoomify flash plug-in. More practical and a million times easier to read...um...I hope. Follow the link Press!

June 28, 2008 | Wow, I just realized I have a website!

Although no updates has been done for quite some time, things are really going well right now! In near future there will be a couple of extensive updates and additions to this website. Be sure to check it out! Also, you are more than welcome to take a minute to write a comment in my guestbook if you want!

November 9, 2007 | PayPal alternative

It is now possible for Europeans to buy my album "In Tempo..." and pay for it using PayPal. It will be shipped from Sweden, which means that the more expensive shipping cost from the US to European countries is avoided. Great huh?

October 15, 2007 | Two new videos!

This time I play the fugue and the allegro from BWV 998, composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. These pieces was composed in 1740-1745 during Bach's time as Thomas-Kantor and Director Musices in Leipzig. The fugue is one of only three fugues that Bach wrote in ternary form, and it is actually the only one with an exact repetition of the opening.

August 17, 2007 | Interview, anyone?

A new addition to this website is an interview with me, made in January 2007, for a local Swedish newspaper. I’ve translated most of it into English, taking much care to follow the original layout as close as possible. You'll be prompted to install a small plug-in to view it in all its splendour, but don't worry - its perfectly safe! You’ll find it under the link "Press" – go read it!

Oh, by the way, another addition is the Instant Message-function that you'll find under the link "Music Player". Type a message - I might answer it if I'm online!

July 12, 2007 | Release of translation imminent

I’ve been really hard at work translating and preparing the release of my method “Ergonomic guitar technique”, a book dealing with ergonomics during playing. The reason for the long wait is that the manuscript is also being revised during the translation with the implementation of further material. The result will be an even more thoroughgoing book than the original Swedish edition. Also, the print will be of even better quality.

February 19, 2007 | Three videos added!

The first two, where I play Giuliani and Bach, can be found following the link "Videos" to the left. The third one is added on the "Album" page and was originally sent to me from the president of CD Baby, Derek Sivers. This is a funny little story about a customer's experience of ordering a CD from CD Baby. You simply just got to watch it!

February 8, 2007 | Review added!

One more review of my album is added on the Album page!

January 25, 2007 | Interviews and review added!

Now there are excerpts from one interview and one review of my album "In Tempo..." on the Album page! These excerpts is translations from two of three articles recently published in Swedish newspapers. Go read 'em!

January 7, 2007 | Translation resumed

Happy New Year everybody! My New Year resolution is to release the English version of my method during this year! There is also a mini version of it in the making, containing the mere technical exercises from the method, together with a collection of technical caprices called "Capricci Dinamarca". This piece is released on my album "In Tempo..." which, by the way, is selling quite well! There are a few more releases to come in the near future, but until I've sorted it all out I'll keep it to myself. Check back soon to get to know more!

December 5, 2006 | The CD "In Tempo..." is RELEASED!

Yehaaa! Mission finally accomplished! 19 tracks, 70:48 minutes of music - check it out by following the link "Albums" to the left!

November 3, 2006 | Review of my book!

This is actually the first review of the Swedish version of my book "Ergonomic guitar technique", as well as the first official review I've ever got since sticking my head out in the world of classical guitar. Luckily it was a truly positive one! Now I'm happy! If you want you can check it out in English HERE, and the original in Swedish HÄR!

October 15, 2006 | CD on the way!
In June, this summer, I started to do recordings of a number of pieces and now, in October, I'm done with a master and the artwork for a release of my debut CD! In time of writing there are still some very small things to solve before distributing it and making it available for purchase. The CD isn't pressed yet, but the distribution is already solved. As this will be an independent release I've signed with CD Baby to distribute the CD on the Internet.
If you're interested, come back later to see how it goes!

September 24, 2006 | www.zelmerloow.com
New site and new address that meets my need for more space! Feels nice to have 1 GB at my disposal... There may be some operational disturbances (hope not!) during this transfer...

August 7, 2006 | Hmmm, sounds promising...
Well, it looks like it's going to be an album! The master doesn't sound just right at this time, though, but maybe I'm on to it. The translation of my book is totally put to a halt - the CD is more important right now.

July 17, 2006 | Done recording!
I've now recorded 20 pieces and will begin to prepare these recordings and see if they're good enough to be released as a CD. The translation of my book keeps going.

June 24, 2006 | Recording sessions
After some time of planning and preparation I've started to do some recording sessions of music by Fernando Sor. My idea is to try to record some of my favorite pieces and see if they could fit as a CD.

May 20, 2006 | Beginning translation
Since the release of my book I've started to translate it - as I plan to publish an English version of it. This will probably take some time, but at least I've started!
